The US-NATO forces use illegal munitions such as depleted/un-depleted liberally in Pashtun villages. Many children are born deformed while others develop various cancers as well as skin lesions.   The majority of these children succumb to their conditions and die short time later. A small number of these children find their way to neighboring countries and seek medical treatment.

Among those seeking treatment, an Afghan girl who is suffering from a tumor on her skull with skin lesions traveled with her father from Ghazni province in Southwestern Afghanistan to Pakistan seeking treatment. When they entered Pakistan, local corrupt police arrest the father and robbed him of roughly 800 dollars that he had borrowed for his daughter’s treatment. Consequently, the little girl was in severe pain with no prospects of treatment. A local member of the Afghan refugee community gave the father and daughter a room to stay until their fate changes.

The condition of the little girl is treatable; however, they do not have money to purchase the needed medications and pay laboratory fees.
