- To myself,
-
- I hold unqualified personal responsibility to maintain
for each of my countrymen his inalienable rights and to resist and conquer
every conspiracy to effect the oppression of the many for the prospering
of the few. I commit all of my personal resources to perfecting and sustaining
that constitution for this country which limits government and divides
its powers for the protection of all against the corruption and tyranny
of the few or the many; to the end that each and all my enjoy life, liberty
and the pursuit of happiness to the extent that nature, our wisdom in cooperation
and individual initiative, and divine Providence allows.
