The US-Israel 'Rift' - More Conjured Than Real

Understanding the relationship between the US and Israel is very complex--mostly because both countries are led by governments that are pretending to be something they are not. Both governments have long been controlled by forces different from those visible to the public. Just as George W. Bush was put into office to fool conservatives with his false Christian conservative credentials, so Obama was installed to divert the inevitable backlash against Bush with false promises of change, which never came--except for the worse. The Obama administration is pursuing the same basic agenda as the previous three administrations, only under different tactics and rhetoric. In like manner, Israelis are fooled into thinking that Benjamin Netanyahu is a Right-wing leader, but he too is only playing that role, just like past leaders of both the Israeli Right and Left. I will use this latest Israeli crisis between PM Netanyahu and VP Joe Biden to illustrate how this all works.

Here's the short version of the diplomatic crisis: The Obama administration, after months of behind the scenes diplomacy, convinced Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to start peace talks with Israel without Israel agreeing to include the issue of a divided Jerusalem (for a future capital of a Palestinian state) as an item of negotiation. One day before talks are supposed to begin, US Vice President Joe Biden arrives in Israel to bask in the glory of this new breakthrough and give instructions to PM Netanyahu. Biden is embarrassed and upstaged when Israel suddenly announces the approval of 1600 new housing units for settlers in East Jerusalem--a direct slap in the face against US demands for no new construction, and a sore point already of the pending negotiations with the Arabs.

The US has long demanded that Israel cease all new construction of Israeli settlements on occupied Arab lands as a prelude to forcing Israel back to its boundaries prior to the 1967 war, and giving the Palestinians their own state. The only concession the US could get out of Netanyahu was a 10 month moratorium on new construction and to dismantle a few unauthorized "outpost" settlements (built by the most religious of the Jewish sects who are discriminated against by the Israeli government). The "approved" settlements are always big government projects done as favors for favored contractors and settlers who "don't make waves" or oppose government policies. It's very political. All settlers are not equal.

Naturally, the result of the diplomatic insult was that the Palestinians refused to talk and the Obama administration (Sec. of State Hillary Clinton, in particular) were made to look bad in the eyes of the international community. Israel was charged with sabotaging the talks, despite Israel's position that it was ready to talk anytime, anywhere. Umbrage was expressed by Clinton and Biden as well as a host of media pundits. Eventually, every major and minor news source weighed in on the crisis. US Middle East envoy George Mitchell cancelled his trip to Israel, and President Barack Obama has hinted that the he wants the head of Interior Minister Eli Yishai to roll over this.

Netanyahu first claimed that the announcement was done without his knowledge by some underling (a lie) and even launched an official investigation (always a cover-up). Nothing happens by accident at this level. Next, Netanyahu waxed eloquent about the wonderful and close relationship between Israel and the US, hoping to limit the appearance of a rift (which doesn't really exist at the levels that count). Obama also reinforced his commitment to Israel, but Hillary Clinton was having no part of it. In a blistering phone conversation with Netanyahu, she let him know that she expected him to undo the construction decision and call her back within a day with positive commitments to restart the peace talks. Netanyahu left her hanging the next day and Clinton had to leave to meet with the Russian foreign minister, her Quartet partner.

Finally, when Netanyahu did call, according to the Washington Post, "Israel gave assurances that the new neighborhood will not be constructed anytime soon [something that was known from the beginning]; it is, in fact, two or three years from groundbreaking. Coupled to that would be an Israeli pledge to avoid publicizing further construction decisions in Jerusalem. The result would not be a freeze, but something like a 'don't ask, don't tell' policy for settlements." The Guardian added more, indicating that Netanyahu gave more concessions, actually selling out the settler position: "diplomats in Washington, Moscow and Jerusalem said Netanyahu had given a private promise that there will be a temporary freeze on any new construction. The work, while not cancelled, is to be postponed for several years." Given the unstable future of peace in Israel, that's as good as a cancellation. Whether or not it is enough to get Abbas back to the table is still in doubt, given the current level of violence.

One theory for all this is that there is a lot of real resentment against Obama in Israel, certain parties wanted to send America a strong message that they weren't going to tolerate American arm-twisting on the Peace Process. From my experience in Israel, that faction certainly exists, especially among the legitimate Right wing. But it does not represent the view of people like Netanyahu who are only feigning allegiance to the settlers and Israeli interests. No politician is going to get elected in Israel if they cross the red lines of ceding control of East Jerusalem to the Palestinian state-to-be. And for good reason. Every territory ceded to exclusive control of the Palestinians has turned into a base for new attacks on Israel's citizens.

For Netanyahu to keep up the facade as the champion of the Right, he has to play to his constituent demands, and assert time and again that he will not cross those red lines (no divided Jerusalem, no right of return, and no abandonment of Israeli settlements). Little do Israelis know that former administrations in Israel have already signed secret agreements to abandon many settlements and give up Jerusalem to international control and cede almost all of the occupied territories back to Palestinian control, according to Barry Chamish who has more whistleblower contacts in Israel than anyone.

That then is the real cause of the fake rift. Netanyahu needs a crisis to have an excuse to betray his red line commitments, just as he did when he signed the Wye agreements with President Clinton during his first tenure as Prime Minister. But, he can't do it all at once. He has to move carefully, and appear to "have no choice." The media is promoting the notion that Netanyahu has to knuckle under to US demands or lose the protection of its prime benefactor. This allows Netanyahu, in turn, to convince his Right wing allies that they have to support him in making "painful" compromises.

Even today certain pundits are warning Netanyahu that he lost his first premiership because he resisted American influence, but that is not true at all. He lost his coalition because he gave in to American pressure and the more ideological parties on the Right abandoned him after he abandoned the settlers. Netanyahu will have to move even more slowly this time around. As in America, the Right always resists against a Leftist threat like Obama, but they are suckers for a phony Right wing leader who will convince them that compromise is necessary.

This week the Palestinians themselves are increasing the pressure of a crisis by incited violent demonstrations. With another Kassam rocket attack, a new Intifada (uprising) has begun and as Israeli police crack down on Palestinian demonstrators, more violence will erupt. The more harsh Israel's response, the less likely anyone will be able to salvage the talks for a long time to come. Hatred is strong in this falsely named "Land of Peace" which is anything but holy! Given the current levels of violence, I think these talks are dead for now and won't recover soon. Even if they meet to satisfy international pressure, nothing will be agreed upon that will satisfy both parties.

What is crucial for my readers to understand about the globalist agenda in Israel is that the so-called Peace Process is a vehicle intended to bring more conflict, not less. The Peace Process is all about shrinking Israel's borders in exchange for "peace" that will never come. That equates to Israel losing almost all the strategic military high ground of the Golan and most of its water rights. That would be suicide. Besides, the Palestinian state can never be self-sustaining. It will always be beholding to Israel for its jobs, innovation, industry, oil and electricity. It will always be a welfare state of the international community, and it will always be a haven for terrorists because of the eternal hatred between Arab leaders and the Jews--and increasingly between common Arabs who have been caught in the crossfire between Israeli soldiers and Hamas radicals. Every time you give autonomy to the Palestinians (Oslo accords on down) you end up with more terror and more violence--never less.

Certainly, there is blame on both sides. The Jewish leaders themselves (belonging to the globalist clique) have fomented and provoked violence, and aided and abetted terror through black operations of the Mossad or Shin Bet. Most Americans don't know that it was the Israelis (using money laundering king Mark Rich--who Clinton pardoned) that set up the secret bank account for terror leader Yasser Arafat in Switzerland--into which Arafat poured some $300 million dollars diverted from international aid payments intended for his people. The US also played a role in saving Arafat from destruction on several occasions. Sure, there are always superficial excuses our leaders use to explain away these actions that save terror for another day --but the real reason is that the so-calledPeace Process is a process of conflict creation. There never will be peace between Arab and Jews as long as their respective leaders are controlled by this agenda using war to build a New World Order.

Part of the reason for the angst over this setback to the Peace talks is that US negotiators know that they only have a few months at most before the Iran attack comes. They were hoping to get a breakthrough on the two-state solution before war comes to the region--when the process will be permanently damaged.

Permit me to finish this analysis by giving you the rest of the background on how corruption of modern leaders, both in Israel and elsewhere happened. In general, all modern presidents and Prime Ministers are controlled entities, though it is often not by direct means. This isn't to say that everyone in government is part of one unified conspiracy--far from it. Conspiracies on a broad scale operate by keeping the overall agenda within a very small group at the top which almost never includes a puppet president or Prime Minister. As much as possible, bright people with predictable philosophies and compromised morals are selected to staff the higher positions in government so that they can be easily manipulated and influenced without being told too much.
