Know A Veteran Who Was Refused Help?
By Ted Twietmeyer

Every now and then I get into it with a former US veteran. These former servicemen express fear to speak out as though they were castrated. It happened again just today with a retired US Coast guard officer. He was upset and worried because I simply said, "If Obama makes the bankers mad he could end up like Kennedy." He replied that Uncle has been good to him and he didn't want something to happen. (Apparently fearing something would happen to his retirement payments.)

Names and identities have been removed to protect the privacy of all individuals.

Below is what I shared with him:

If everyone lives in fear of uncle then things will only get worse. That's a given.

I know THREE other vets who got stiffed by uncle. Three different branches of the defense department and all resolved. Until you brought up your fear factor, I didn't even realize that I've helped three men get their missing benefits until now.

One navy vet was told who tried to collect his benefits at 78 years old (I love this reponse,) "The warehouse burned down with all your records in it." I told him that was pure BS from a lazy government employee.

I also told him, "You were in the navy. You know there are at least THREE copies of every document, if not more."

He thought about it for a moment and said, "You know, you're right about that." This man was my late stepfather. I said, "Here's what you do next..."

Another friend of mine (US army vet) suffered with painful hip problems since the Korean War. When they drafted him he told them about his hip problem, but they still sent him to basic training and made him march 10 miles with a full field pack at Camp LeJune in the hot summer. Pure torture - he collapsed at about 1 mile into the march. He ended up with a job as the projectionist for the US army chiefs of staff and told me from the projection booth he watched them plan WW3 as the Korean War was ending.

Because he listened to me and did what I told him uncle went back several decades to
give him his past compensation. He was sent a check well into 6 figures - enough to send his wife and daughter on a 1 year trip around Americain an RV.

Another friend of mine, retired USAF couldn't get his benefits. The loving people at the CIA drafted him for technical help while in the USAF because he's very sharp. As a reward for his hard work, they made all of his records vanish. But he still had his discharge papers. When he told me what happened I said to him, "You don't have to take that crap. You earned it and you deserve it. Here's what you do next..."

And he got his full benefits, too.

How did I help ALL THREE get their compensation? Very simple - I told all of them to call their congressman and scream like hell. That's all it took. Two of them had their problems were solved in less than 2 weeks.

The third man, retired US army, took about a year to get his back compensation he had coming. Uncle finally did a hip replacement, which was overdue by some 50 years. Now he's classified 100% disabled and is now paid about $3k/month tax-free. But he suffered in pain his entire life since the days of the Korean war and has more than earned it.

My retired coast guard friend mentioned he was afraid for himself because a former NASA employee friend of his got stiffed for speaking out. I'll replace the NASA employee's name below with a blank, but he is a well known personality:

I told the retired coast guard officer, "If Mr.____ had problems that didn't get resolved, it's because he didn't want to climb the ladder and stand up for himself. I've done it all my life, and don't care who gets mad. I get things done and issues resolved. That's what I do both professionally and otherwise."

I also stated-

"Living in fear is no way to be an American. That's what uncle wants people to do.
Consider the principles America was founded on and who the men were.
Consider the oath you took to uphold the Constitution of the United States and what it says."

"Be the man you are and don't live in fear - there's no excuse for it."

I will be the first to say that not all VA doctors are the brightest bulbs on the planet, after hearing a number of VA horror stories. There are certain illnesses and afflictions they would not be the first choice for treatment. But ordinary operations like hip replacements which are insanely expensive to pay for, they seem to handle without a problem.

Outside of medical help, there may be monthly payments during retirement that veterans may be entitled to. Each case can be unique and different. But if you were injured in the service and have received nothing for it, you could be entitled to collect. Don't be surprised if the first time you file for benefits you're turned down. Don't let that stop you.

The former army man who collected six figures needed a lawyer to do it. It cost him NOTHING out of pocket there are law firms that specialize in handling these cases and collect their legal fees from the government. They will look at your case and decide if it's worth doing. For you and your family it's well worth pursuing if the government owes you.

Hopefully this will help other veterans who have also been stiffed. Some years ago, Bush junior signed an executive order that no VA benefits would be paid to vets before 1995. But that will not stop others from collecting compensation after 1995.

Apparently the DoD was flooded with veterans wanting past compensation, which may have prompted the executive order to be written by Bush.

If you are a veteran who with benefits coming and they have refused to help you, call your congressman and stand up for your rights.

If you don't do it, who will?
