- For many; Haiti's artificial earthquake is seen to be
an event that happened only to that desecrated island nation. The truth
is that the aftereffects of everything that is and has happened there is
only prologue, to what will happen here to us: If we do not act to demand
the necessary changes in policy and international criteria; if there is
to be a future-anywhere on this planet. Here is an interrogatory response
that I made to an article forwarded by Anita Sands; which demanded a response,
but was incomplete: Hence this article.

- THE RESTEAVEC CHILDREN of HAITI
- AS: "There's a lot of poverty, starvation and death
in Latin America. In Brazil, the cops regularly shoot the children asleep
in alleys at night, blaming them for street crime. In Haiti, children are
turned out as beggars or sex workers. By whom? Not parents, it seems but
by their uncles and aunts. Understand, there has been a century of starvation
and death there. Even before the quake, life was cheap in Port Au Prince.
When families inherit a dead relative's children, they put them out to
beg, prostitute themselves and make them sleep on the floor and even murder
them. And it is socially acceptable. All of it.

- Try to imagine what happens when a single parent dies
in a Haitian ghetto. Sisters and brothers have to take over as parents
to a lot of scruffy, hungry, needy kids. There has to be a lot of resentment
toward the children. What if you inherited your dead sister's kids? Or
your dead brother's children? Even in the best of times, could you treat
them as well as you treat your own children? Well, there are no best of
times in Haiti and in fact, inheriting orphans is justifiable reason for
the esclavitude and even murdering of small children.

- Last week I was sneering at Reverend Pat Robertson for
saying that Satan had a Pact with Haiti, but I read up on the "resteavec"
practices of Haitians just now (three sites below are a sampling,) and
whereas I've changed my whole mind on this quake. Maybe God only gives
an island what it ought to karmically go through. What goes around comes
around, ya know. The adults and the culture are the guilty ones; the children
mistreated that way are blameless, but they exist and these practices exist.
A friend cued me today to google this word 'restaveks' often spelled resteavec
--I did. It turns out "reste" means "to stay" in French
and AVEC means "with" ---meaning "stay with" someone.)
So they're the "Stay with children".
- Journalists have caught sight of these 'farmed out orphans'
as thieves, beggars, sex slaves and written the phenomenon up."

- K: CONGRATULATIONS Anita - you just swallowed the bait,
hook, line and sinker. 'God' is not the reason for the situation in Haiti;
the French and American governments are the reason behind the bone-crushing
poverty that created this obscenity. If there is any 'karma' in play there,
it is the karma created by those that privatized a once self-sufficient
nation and turned it into a totally militarized occupation for the most
part of the time between 1804 and today.

and guarantee that they will not be "taken in" because they are
all irrevocably damaged goods, not worthy of any love or second chances.
I sense that the problem seems to be (in your view) that these children
are not good enough for those cowardly prospective yuppies that might be
considering 'giving a home' to someone 'not of their esteemed class' -
but as an orphan or a "stay-with" that child would nonetheless
be expected to do their owners (as step-parents) proud? If you believe
that Anita, then you are as filthy as the four presidential traitors that
added greatly to this nightmare most recently - where was your criticism
of them or their two hundred year effort to starve these people into oblivion?

- It's perhaps a great thing that you are not "an
American parent that was going to adopt," because anyone with this
attitude is not a viable candidate for parenthood. However this attitude
that you are presenting here just happens to condemn the lowest of the
low to almost certain death by any number of horrors - rather than even
to attempt to reverse the situation on the ground in Haiti or to force
us and the forces of the New World Order out of that already destroyed
nation forever.

of those Haitian adult survivors are part of a pond scum culture and have
poisoned the young around them. If they do reste avec practices to kids

Apparently neither of you have ever really been involved with even trying

- What has happened to this country and to the world is
that the language we use now has been totally eviscerated. The meaning
of words like treason and traitor, not to mention terms like democracy
and freedom have become so contrived as to now be utterly meaningless.
Yesterday's Supreme Court Decision that invalidated the rights of Americans
to be able to speak with equal force against corporate political power
in electoral politics was destroyed, by a 5-4 activist right-wing court
decision, that if not overturned will end our representative government
at all levels!

the U.S. Constitution. They have stretched the definition of "people"
to non-people. They have called black white. Up is down. They have redefined
the plain definition of a word to something totally different than that
word. Corporations are not people. That is common sense and plain to any
rationally thinking honest person with a soul. Corporations do not vote.
Corporations do not run for election to political office. Corporations
are legal creations, associations of people with human souls (shareholders)
who already have the right to vote and hold political office. The human
souls who are shareholders are not the same as the corporation itself.
They are different.

- This ruling undermines the integrity of the election
system. It throws out over a century of restrictions imposed by Congress
against corporations so that they would not influence the outcome of elections.
Corporations have an unfair advantage over the small guy, over real people,
in the amount of money they control.

- What does this mean? It means future Supreme Court Justices
will be appointed by presidents who have been bought, purchased, and are
controlled by corporations, and confirmed by U.S. senators who also have
been purchased by corporations. It means Exxon Mobil, who earn $45 billion
a year, can spend any amount of money they want on advertisements supporting
a political candidate. It means any candidate who wants to get elected
will cut deals with corporations in exchange for their billions in advertising
support. It means Goldman Sachs will decide elections. It means Chubb and
Cigna and General Electric and Microsoft and Astra Zeneca will put their
people in place in our government, who will pass and enforce legislation
favorable to their special interests." (1)

- The way that what happened in Haiti and what has been
going on inside Palestine now for over sixty years has been made possible,
through the official use of Doublespeak which this government has now perfected.
This murder by linguistic slight-of-mouth is being used to steal what was
not ours while crushing what's left of free speech and the very real liberties''
that were once so basic to all of American life, and by varying degrees
to other nations everywhere else.

- In Haiti today there is virtually no communication between
those with the life-saving supplies that are so desperately needed and
those that are trying to get those supplies. This entire situation was
created by an artificial fear generated by the occupation forces that have
created red-zones inside Haiti; that supposedly are hostile areas where
lives are threatened by 'powerful resistance forces and rogue elements
that must be contained' by our overweight and uncontrollable battalions
of armed force. That is the lie that is keeping people from getting what
they need to stay alive. The same thing will be done here, when we will
face these same occupying powers that will do to Americans what the New
World Order is continuing to do to both the Palestinians and the Haitians.

- Government is using the crisis in Haiti to do things
it could never do without the artificiality of this created disaster. Just
as our treatment of the Palestinians is continually covered up by new wars
and new outrages in other parts of the world; we are meant to avoid looking
closely at what is being done to US citizens, while we are presented with
the continuing lies in both Palestine and Haiti as exceptions that have
"no real solution" which adds farce to criminal murder, before
during and after the facts finally become known!

is just one of the more malevolent outcomes of this outrage that spits
in the face of humanity and of all that is decent in the natural world
of human relations everywhere.
