- Scott Teeters here. I passed on watching President Obama's
speech tonight because I have such a difficult time listening through his
affected, phony-folkie way of speaking, so I read the key points on MSNBC...

-
- WOW! It's only going to cost a projected $900 Billion
over ten years.
-
- And most of us know that they ALWAYS under-estimate the
cost of government programs. But he says it's a bargain compared to the
financial missteps of his predecessor. (swipe-swipe). You have to drill
down into the second page of the story to get to the real red meat. Close
to the top of the page, it says, "Obama's proposal tracks closely
with legislation offered by Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont."
-
- This is that wonderful American that wants to FINE people
if they DON'T sign up for their plan, according to the story published
by Politico.com...

-
- I wonder if this man has a pulse. As we stumble forward
through this depression, every week, Americans are experiencing the END
of their unemployment compensation and have ZERO income. If they have anything
left in their 401Ks, I guess they'll have to take the big tax hit and cash
out early just to survive. If they have nothing, I guess it's too bad for
them. Maybe people such as Max Baucus believe that America is fully employed
and can afford to pay the premiums for health insurance. And within all
the chatter over the issue, I have yet to hear a single official pin a
premium amount to the coverage. It's as if "How much is this going
to cost me?" is a state secret.
-
- Back to the MSNBC report, if you go to page 2...
-
- http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32752036/ns/politics-health_care_reform/page/2/
-
- ... it says, "Obama's proposal tracks closely with
legislation offered by Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont"
-
- Now we're REALLY in trouble! So what are they so happy
about? One of your recent guests pointed out that for the 75% of American
that still have a job, most of this is just background chatter, "Not
my problem, man."
-
- I'm not a stupid person, but I was befuddled by all that
I heard from alleged "leaders" attempting to explain this issue.
By the time they get into their third sentence and start droning on about
"bipartisan support" and other useless expressions, I start to
get a headache. So, I did what I do when I get torqued up about an issue
I research.
-
- Using www.ixquick.com, so I don't get tracked by our
friends at Google, I searched for "Canada's health care system"
and found the following essay that clearly explains how they manage their
nation's healthcare system. Here's the link to the story published on the
Boulder Community Network, in Boulder, Colorado...
-
- bcn.boulder.co.us/health/healthwatch/canada.html
-
- This essay isn't a short sound bite and it's not a long,
lumbering diatribe. It is clear and cogent. After I finished reading it
I thought, "My GOD those Canadians are humane!" I will be printing
the essay out and sending it to my Congressmen and Senators with clear
instructions for what I want them to do, as my voice in government.
-
-
- "TALK TO THE CANADIAN OFFICIALS! TALK TO THE CANADIAN
CITIZENS! AND LISTEN TO THEM!"
-
- We must at least attempt to lead our leaders, or as you
say, just slap on the leg irons.
-
- Take good care.
