- Almost two full years in the making; the most extravagant
political circus in our history finally had its unveiling last night.
It was billed as a debate, but
- in a debate, the two sides actually confront one another
and speak TO each other. This did not happen in fact McCain never looked
at Obama even once. It was a sterile performance by equally inept political
neophytes who treated the public to a rarely seen mountain of lies and
misinformation that the politician's have been trying to enshrine, since
this whole charade began back in 2000. And according to this morning's
"reviews" apparently no one that "matters" even blinked.
-
- One example; the topic was supposed to be "foreign
policy & Iraq," which the moderator modified to include the
financial meltdown which is the reason that congress will remain in session
for the next two days at least. No mention whatever was made of the largest
failure of an American Bank in US History that had just happened: Washington
Mutual is no more, so just how serious or important could these "debates"
have been?
-
- Unmentioned in the two hours of rote recitals of garbage
that the various 'candidates' have been trying desperately to convince
the public about for twenty-two months now were things like what passed
the House of Representatives last Wednesday-a one trillion dollar extension
of the budget!
- "The House passed a mammoth defense bill by a 392-39
vote. It's expected to clear the Senate with little difficulty next week.
-
- It was part of a trillion-dollar stop-gap measure to
keep programs running through next March, allowing lawmakers to skip town
without passing a final budget. The Associated Press reports, "The
legislation came together in a remarkably secret process that concentrated
decision-making power in the hands of a few lawmakers."
-
- In keeping with the tradition of recent years, Bush held
a gun to his own head and threatened to pull the trigger if his demands
weren't met. According to the AP, "To earn President Bush's signature
rather than a veto, House and Senate negotiators dropped several provisions
he opposed. They include a ban on private interrogators in U.S. military
detention facilities and what would have amounted to congressional veto
power over a security pact with Iraq."
-
- In other words, Congress also maintained recent tradition,
swearing not to give Bush a blank check and then whipping out their pens
and signing a blank check." (1)
-
- Given that the whole environment in the capital at the
moment is about the financial meltdown of the US government how could
something as fantastic as a TRILLION more dollars spent, not set off
red flares!
-
- Last night's two hour recitations did not include mention
of the fact that the reason the BAILOUT was Dead-on-Arrival when presented
to the congress, was simply that Bush sought to treat the congress and
the public as he has been treating Iran and Iraq for the whole of the
time that he's been slaughtering people in those countries, and several
others. But when he tried to allow Paulson to put a gun to the heads of
the congress and the public - the whole thing fell apart!
-
- Both 'candidates' bought into the Bush administration's
lies about the conflict between the two breakaway provinces in Georgia,
and tried to lay the groundwork for a whole new series of nation- building
alliances with a number of counties which the American Empire believes
it has a right to control.
-
- The nation of Georgia is Russia's Cuba: that is to say
Georgia literally borders Russia, and what goes on there concerns Russia
in the same what that we would be concerned about Cuba, even though Cuba
is 90 miles away! To fail to understand what transpired when Georgia attacked
the two republics that have identified themselves with Russia, by population,
by religion and by three separate open elections: is to fail to understand
global politics as well as the regional conflicts in areas that are not
part of Europe!
-
- Throughout this multi-billion dollar extravaganza, the
thing that took the greatest beating was the entire American electoral
process. For a country with well over 300 million people: Only two parties
were presented, and these two creatures represented opinions & lies
without a difference: that is NOT a choice that could ever fix anything!
This is especially true since both parties are willing to hold an election
wherein 40% of the election machines are on record as being subject to
very-simple election fraud. Yet no one is even concerned that this
might throw any election by default to those that own the machines.
-
- Both candidates in their summations sounded calls for
policies that only a moron could support-and that anyone with any knowledge
of what's happened in the last eight years-could never subscribe to.
The "foreign policy views expressed were naive to the point of sheer
folly, as they both portrayed the other countries of the world as something
like errant cities within some backwater of the United States that needed
to be corralled and disciplined: and never did either 'candidate ever
speak of these sovereign nations as people with rights and determinations
of their own within the world. Nor was there any mention of the two million
Iraqi's killed, or the two million displaced, or even the 2 million maimed
or damaged, because all that mattered were the 4,000 official American
deaths: that is an inhuman view of reality.
-
- McCain cited the broken government of Iran as proof that
they were a failed economy, but forgot to mention that we have sent in
the CIA and others to destabilize that nation, seize their banks and
stop their transactions in world commerce: all of which are acts of war.
Kissinger, the architect of these tactics, was cited as the expert in
this arena: despite the fact that he engineered the overthrow of the Chilean
government, and installed Pinochet, he also did the Indonesian massacres
and a myriad of other projects including Viet Nam where he won the Nobel
Peace Prize: and Kissinger is now a wanted WAR Criminal, in addition to
being an advisor to the campaigns!
-
- How people can get still get excited one way or the other
about the coming selection is beyond my ability to comprehend. The system
has been compromised: smashed into a million slivers of privatized broken
glass that litters the landscape which is owned outright by Outlaw-Barbarians
and their deep-pocketed controllers. This is part of their private club,
and they don't give a damn about the public, except as collateral for
these obscene loans that are coming to a screeching halt:
-
- "BEIJING, Sept 25 (Reuters) - Chinese regulators
have told domestic banks to stop interbank lending to U.S. financial
institutions to prevent possible losses during the financial crisis, the
South China Morning Post reported on Thursday.
-
- The Hong Kong newspaper cited unidentified industry sources
as saying the instruction from the China Banking Regulatory Commission
(CBRC) applied to interbank lending of all currencies to U.S. banks but
not to banks from other countries.
-
- "The decree appears to be Beijing's first attempt
to erect defenses against the deepening U.S. financial meltdown after
the mainland's major lenders reported billions of U.S. dollars in exposure
to the credit crisis," the SCMP said." (2)
-
- So now what will happen to the twisted fantasy of Pax-Americana,
who without money, will become just another failed state with nothing
to say about anything internationally: but to listen to Tweedle-Dee &
Tweedle-Dumb one might think this nation is still rolling in money and
possibilities, when nothing could be further from the truth! In fact whoever
ends up at the helm of the new Titanic-Americana will have no money to
do anything about anything, for at least the next three decades: thanks
largely to the bandits of privatization that have rigged every aspect
of society with poison pills to explode rather than to ever change their
ways-just look at Wall Street!
