- Regarding this story:
-
-
- "CHICAGO -- Libertyville-based DMH Ingredients has
filed a federal lawsuit against Changzhou Kelong Chemical Co. Ltd., saying
DMH found metal shavings in 11,200 kilos of aspartame artificial sweetener
the Chinese company shipped in 2005.
-
- DMH seeks more than $174,000 from the Chinese company
to cover costs DMH had to pay Wisconsin-based Sturm Foods, where the metal
shavings were discovered, the suit says."
-
- Here is an article written by Dr. James Bowen explaining
aspartame is not only an adjuvant but a chelating agent so these metal
shavings would be particularly dangerous. http://www.wnho.net/aspartame_murders_infants.htm
Aspartame is an addictive excitoneurotoxic carcinogenic drug that interacts
with other drugs. The 1000 page medical text, Aspartame Disease: An Ignored
Epidemic, by H. J. Roberts, M.D., www.sunsentpress.com is filled with
symptoms, neurodegenerative diseases and tumors. Aspartame can precipitate
diabetes and simulates and aggravates diabetic retinopathy and neuropathy,
destroys the optic nerve and even interacts with insulin according to Dr.
Roberts. It makes you crave carbohydrates so you gain weight.
-
- In l977, the FDA asked for an indictment of the original
manufacturer, Searle, under Title 18, Section 1001. Here is the FDA audit:
http://www.dorway.com/bressler.txt Both US Prosecutors, Sam Skinner and
William Conlon hired on with the defense team and the statute of limitations
expired. Don Rumsfeld was CEO of Searle and said he would call in his
markers and get it approved anyway according to the UPI Investigation
http://www.wnho.net/upi_1987_aspartame1.htm and congressional record of
l985.
-
- After revoking the petition for approval Searle actually
had the gall to file suit against the FDA to get it on the market. The
Associated Press on 10/1/80 reported the scientific panel of inquiry convened
by the FDA to investigate the safety of aspartame had recommended the Government
keep the sweetener off the market. 9/30/80: http://www.wnho.net/fda_petition1.doc
They were concerned by the oncogenic potential (substance's potential
to cause tumors). The FDA had even caught Searle excising brain tumors
from the rats, putting them back in the study, and when the rats died resurrecting
them on paper. The late FDA toxicologist, Dr. Adrian Gross, told Congress
at least one of Searle's studies "has established beyond ANY REASONABLE
DOUBT that aspartame is capable of inducing brain tumors in experimental
animals and that this predisposition of it is of extremely high significance.
... In view of these indications that the cancer causing potential of aspartame
is a matter that had been established WAY BEYOND ANY REASONABLE DOUBT,
one can ask: What is the reason for the apparent refusal by the FDA to
invoke for this food additive the so-called Delaney Amendment to the Food,
Drug and Cosmetic Act?"
-
- The Delaney Amendment makes it illegal to allow any residues
of cancer causing chemicals in foods. In his concluding testimony Gross
asked, "Given the cancer causing potential of aspartame how would
the FDA justify its position that it views a certain amount of aspartame
as constituting an allowable daily intake or 'safe' level of it? Is that
position in effect not equivalent to setting a 'tolerance' for this food
additive and thus a violation of that law? And if the FDA itself elects
to violate the law, who is left to protect the health of the public?"
Congressional Record SID835:131 (August 1, l985)
-
- Don Rumsfeld was on President Reagan's transition team
and the day after he was elected he appointed Arthur Hull Hayes as FDA
Commissioner to approve aspartame. Worried it might take 30 days to get
him there and the petition had already been revoked he wrote an executive
order making the current FDA toxicologist powerless to do anything about
aspartame until Hayes was there. He then over-ruled the Board of Inquiry,
went to the work for the PR Agency of the manufacturer, Burson Marsteller,
on a ten year contract at $1.000 a day. Quite a reward. He has refused
to talk to the press ever since. All of this is discussed in the aspartame
documentary, "Sweet Misery: A Poisoned World", www.amazon.com
-
- Fortunately, thanks to the Chicago Board of Education
diet drinks with aspartame are no longer in Chicago grammar or middle schools,
but they remain in high schools. Aspartame marketed as NutraSweet, Equal,
Spoonful, 951, Canderel, etc. is particularly dangerous to children and
triggers everything from reduced IQ, confusion and memory loss to seizures
and sudden cardiac death. This Report For Schools http://www.wnho.net/report_on_aspartame_and_children.htm
with new articles by renowned aspartame toxicity experts is particularly
the project of Aspartame Awareness Weekend,
- September 7/8/9.
-
- The Ramazzini Studies released in 2005 and 2007 have
confirmed FDA's original findings that aspartame is a multipotential carcinogen,
the latter showing even a small amount can cause cancer. Also, the offspring
of a pregnant woman using aspartame, if he or she survives (triggers birth
defects and mental retardation) can grow up to have cancer in their future.
There is even a study on the effect of aspartame administration on oncogene
and suppressor gene expressions reported in June 2007. The issue is discussed
in a CD, "The Truth About Aspartame" by Russell Blaylock, M.D.,
author of Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills, www.russellblaylockmd.com
-
- Aspartame remains illegally on the market because of
adulteration http://www.wnho.net/open_letter_dick_adamson.htm and violation
of the Delaney Amendment which has no exemption for "any" amount
of carcinogenesis.
-
- Resources are rampant proving aspartame toxicity. There
is an Aspartame Detoxification Center in Chicago. Dr. Blaylock's paper
on "What To Do If You Have Used Aspartame" is www.wtdaspartame.htm
