Unfortunately, we, the citizens of this state, have very poor, if any, representation in Washington: For example, I sent a letter to Congressman John Shadegg - who I thought was one of the best congressmen to limit government and reduce taxes - voicing the concerns of we seniors about the North American Union. He replied: "A North American Union, with open borders and its own currency, does not currently exist. Such and organization would, at a minimum, require legislation to be enacted by Congress. There is currently no legislative activity focused on creating a North American Union. The Constitution states that all federal legislative powers are vested in the Congress of the United States. I assure you that I am staunchly opposed to any effort to weaken the Constitution and our democratic process." True, the NAU has not been debated in Congress and its currency does not yet exist, but there is and has been a focus on creating a North American Union consisting of Mexico, Canada, and the United States similar to the European Union. President Bush, bypassing Congress, had a meeting with President Fox of Mexico and the Prime Minister of Canada in 2005 to put the NAU on fast track with a goal of accomplishing it by 2010 (You will see nothing about it in the Main Stream Press. For the truth, read the The New American). When Shadegg says there is currently no legislative activity, he must not be aware of the powers given to NAFTA by the U.S. Congress. According to a meeting I attended this past week, we were told by a reliable source that within the NAFTA agreement a court system has already been established that can be used to override decisions made by our courts. That means that this court of unelected non-citizens of the U.S. has been given the power to nullify any decision made by our U.S. Supreme Court which can be used to destroy our constitutional freedoms. Now, Shadegg and many of our Congressmen on both sides of the fence, and 90% of the American people, have their heads stuck in the sand or do not care what is going on in this country. Another example: During Congressman Jeff Flake's talk at the Arizona Federation of Taxpayers meeting last week, he told a lady in the audience that his immigration legislation was NOT amnesty. The next day, called his Mesa office and asked for a copy of his legislation. I received a summary of his legislation and here is what I read: "Provides for H-2C adjustment of status to permanent resident if the alien (1) has been employed in H-2C status for a cumulative period of at least five years and (can) establish evidence of employment; (2) pays a $500 application fee; (3) is physically present in the United States; (4) is pursuing English Language and U.S. history education. "Directs the Secretary of State to negotiate bilateral agreements with H-2C worker home countries (whatever this means). "Authorizes a six-year conditional nonimmigrant status for a qualifying alien and spouse and children who has been illegally and continually present and employed in the United States since before June 1, 2006. "Repeals the denial of an unlawful alien's eligibility for higher education benefits based on state residence...(In other words illegals can receive their education at our expense). "Authorizes the Secretary of State to cancel the removal of, and adjust to conditional permanent resident status, "Directs the Secretary to adjust a blue card alien (and spouse and minor children) to permanent resident status if the alien has fulfilled specified periods of agricultural employment. "Amends the Social Security Act to exempt blue card aliens from prosecution for social security related identity (theft) or payment false statements if such conduct occurred prior to the granting of blue card status. "Authorizes an initial entry adjustment, and citizenship assistance grant program. Not Amnesty?? If it isn't, what is Congressman Flake's definition of amnesty?
The NAU and illegal immigrants gaining citizenship is happening because those we sent to Washington to protect our way of life and Constitutional freedoms are not doing their jobs. These congressmen must think we are a bunch of idiots. Don't you think it is time they get their heads out of the sand, their bodies out of Washington, and mingle with us in the hinterlands to find out what is going on in this country?
And we have to get off this kick that I vote for 'Democrats' because I am a Democrat or I vote for 'Republicans' because I am a Republican. We are AMERICANS and have to vote for those who will do what is best for the citizens of our country.
For copies of the information I received contact the local offices of Congressmen Shadegg and Flake..
