- Date: October 23, 2005 Time: 7:30 p.m.
-
- Location of Sighting: North Carolina marine corp base.
Number of witnesses: 1 Number of objects: 2? Shape of objects: V-shaped
or triangle
-
- Full Description of event/sighting: I was out in field
with a deer I just shot, when I saw 4 lights flying towards me in a SW
direction. No sound when it was over me it had a diamond shape of glowing
red lights with a large round red light in its center. This craft had 2
white strobes on each wing tip and a red strobe in the front center that
are only seen as it goes by.
-
- As this thing goes by when it's at about a 45 degree
angle I could hear a faint jet noise. With jet noise that far behind it
usually means that this is very high up which would indicate this thing
was huge. But I thought it was only 1000 feet or so, and the size of a
B2 at that altitude. Some turbo jet silencer? Or chase aircraft I did not
see. That's not all, it came back!? Or there was 2 of them flying the same
flight path. Same path but maybe some other white lights underneath. I
will send pictures not very good but I believe can be cleaned up.
-
- They are not great but if you change the contrast little
the pictures show an outline of the shape. I also did some checking, I
work on MCAS new river, so I called the radar tower to see if they knew
of this or had a radar return. I was told that Camp Lejeune is restricted
airspace run from MCAS Cherry point, so I called them. A SSGT(E-6) transfers
me to a MSGT (E-8) who is charge of all the admin, and records of who has
clearance for that airspace. We were talking and I heard a Marine tell
him they had nothing on anyone and that area. He sounded honest to me,
I told him that I seen a craft in that area that wasn't suppose to be there
then, he even mentioned - "Well, guess you seen a UFO then."
I was a little shocked to hear his complacence of someone in our airspace.
-
- Here are the pictures and my drawing. My camera is 3
hours behind eastern time if there was a question. If you find out anything
please let me know. I can't remember if I filled this out on your site
but I'm a Staff Sergeant in the Marine Corp for 11 years, an Ordnance technician
on F-18s and CH-53s and Drill Instructor from Parris Island. No one can
mess with my integrity.
-
- Thank you to the eyewitness for the interesting report.
