from an American - one Bill Mahr - unsolicited, a person unknown to myself,
talking of things I had allegedly said, but had not - see copy below.

- Thank you muchly, Jeff - I really appreciated the opportunity
to reply to Bill via such a large audience.

- Immediately thereafter, I received a pile of related
posts. It was about 90% "Good On You" (of which over 50% were
from OZ), and about 10% along the lines of "You are a a Pinko Commie
Greenie Rag Head-Loving Low Life" (All from the USA - mainly Texas
and Florida)

- Some OZ replies pointed out that I had not addressed
Bill Mahr's claims re the US's "close adherence to the Geneva Convention".

- I had not discussed his claims on this matter at the
time due to my personal lack of knowledge on the issue. This situation
has since changed quite drastically due to the publication of press interviews
with: (A) Australian Guantanamo prisoner's lawyers, and (B) British subjects
released from Guantanamo Bay. There has also been a huge volume of press
reports about Guantanamo, Abhu Graib, and other aspects of US military
behavioral patterns in it's Iraqi operations eg. Fallujah etc etc etc.

- Thus, after a lengthy delay, I have decided to finish
my reply to Bill Mahr now - in June 2005 - and I hope that you can also
find the space to post this.

- Obviously Bill Mahr's allegation/hoped for US behavior
re strict adherence to the Geneva Convention is pure Hollywood in origin
and is totally unsupported by the subsequent facts. It would be nice to
think that the US Military (as a primary representative of the "Free
World") does in fact operate according to the Geneva Convention BUT
it most observably & obviously does NOT. Belief in such US military
ethical behavior is of course pure wishful thinking and an apprentice space
cadet viewpoint. Any perusal of history demonstrates that the US Military
has in fact operated with pure bastardry many many times before. A fact
Hollywood only recently began to recognise BUT unfortunately only as regards
the Plains Indian Wars...

- The reality of course is that we are not "The Free
World" anymore. It is doubtful that we ever have really been "Free".
Our Democracy is obviously a shame. We go through the motions of voting
for increasingly loony "leaders" but real power lies covertly
hidden behind the money printing presses. Increasingly persons of any intelligence
are faced with the belief that our election results are rigged. Certainly
the mass media storylines are rigged and literally millions exist in a
brainwashed state because of it. The state of beingness termed Blissful
Ignorance and Dumbo are very widespread in our society today.

- Bill's view that "The Iraqi leaders made the choices
not to follow the geneva convention laws" seems to also fit perfectly
the actions of the Bush junta in their continuing wars of conquest.

- We are now some 18 months on from Bill Mahr's letter
and quite a few other aspects have changed as more facts leak to the outside
world.

- For instance Bill Mahr refers to "murder of a truely
large civilian population" (by Saddam Hussein). Well the latest figures
suggest the US Military action in Iraq has murdered some 100,000 Iraqi
citizens (Men, Women, and Children) to-date. Two wrongs never make a right.
This death toll is simply disgusting and to justify it as necessary to
remove one mini-tyrant is pure bastardry. Especially, as all that has happened
is the swap of one little dictator for one bigger one - size of dictator
being determined by numbers of dead on their hands. But of course "it
had to be done for the sake of humanity" (the Bliar line) is humbug
and deceit of the worst kind.

- Another line of Bill's letter refers to "(Iraq)
allowing it's military personnel to dress in civilian clothing. This causes
mass confusion as to who the enemy is". Well doesn't the US commander
in chief also wear civilian clothes from time to time ??? I note recent
reports on Rense.com suggest that a large number of Israeli army personnel
are fighting in Iraq - dressed as US army combatants. So confusion runs
both ways. Who is really directing this war and who truly benefits. Any
conflict between two parties needs a third party to keep it stirred along.

- Bill believes that "Much of this so called murder
is to be blamed on the Iraq's decisions to not follow the rules of warfare".
Sounds incredibly chivalrous of the US to adhere to the "Rules of
Warfare" whilst those goddam Iraqis don't BUT trouble is there are
NO Rules of Warfare and never have been. The US cannot in any stretch of
the imagination be accoladed as following any civilised rules of anykind
- let alone of warfare. The Iraqi Resistance are following certain well
known rules of guerrilla warfare - but who else is letting off car-bombs
there and stirring the pot between the different Iraqi factions ???

- I know "WAR IS WAR" but I also know when a
war has honor and this war has NONE. What is different about this war when
compared to WWII is that the US troops have been turned into the NAZIS
and along with it your previously unassailable reputation of the USA as
THE MOST ADVANCED society on the planet.

- I actually feel sorry for Bill Mahr and probably millions
of Americans like him who have probably suffered a severe reality adjustment
over the last year or so - inspite of your "locked down" establishment
mainstream TV and press.

- The USA used to be a beacon of hope for the citizens
of planet Earth but now it has become either an object of fear and/or pity.
Unfortunately at the very least the USA got totally corrupted ONLY recently.
At the worst it was all spin to start with - I expect the Plains Indians
see it that way.

- Under Bush the US has embarked upon a worldwide oil claim
jumping exercise. Very similar in so many ways to that old Hitler concept
of geo-political "Lebensraum".

- Bill - unfortunately the World now sees you and your
fellow citizens as a rather pathetic if dangerous collection of murderers
and/or claim jumpers - or their accomplices. In Australia claim jumping
used to be considered a worse crime than almost anything else. Those who
engage in it are thought of as low life of the most degenerate kind. Unfortunately
even our OZ Government have been coerced into aiding and abetting the international
theft of the oil resources and lands of others.

world. Thank God that an increasing number of Americans are standing up
to say NO to this lunacy, illegality, and inhumanity. We even get to see
this on our OZ TV but I understand that you do not get to see much of it
in the USA - except on brave web sites like Jeff's

Although you probably meant to use the word "murderer" I think
it was prescient that you used "murder" since that is what you
and many other millions of Americans are - a "murder". You, who
used to be sentient beings capable of self determined action, have been
"murdered" by years of media manipulation. You are now effectively
dead as human spirits having been turned into another spiritual life form
= parrot spirits (somewhat like the famous "Norwegian Blue").
Instead of looking, deciding, and speaking for yourself, you have been
reduced to copying and repeating the mindless trash of your media - the
broadcast spin of your dictator - George "Orwell" Bush - the
man who claimed not so long ago that he was a "Peace President"...

spotting american targets, so that the enemy could fire on them. Its us
or them. Are you an american? If so do you want our boys to die, or to

faced with the probability of your own death you don't take chances with
approaching vehicles or people. The Iraqi leaders made the choices not
to follow the geneva convention laws, for instance, allowing it's military
personnel to dress in civilian clothing. This causes mass confusion as
to who the enemy is, so more innocent people are killed. If every one followed
the geneva convention laws as closely as we do we wouldn't have to have
as ugly events as these. Much of this so called murder is to be blamed
on the Iraq's decisions to not follow the rules of warfare. Did you know
that in world war II if you were captured fighting in civilian clothing
you were executed. What is different about today?
