The Real Main Cause Of
Parkinson's Is Aspartame

Dear Leslie,

Parkinson's Disease is an insufficiency of dopamine. And this is what aspartame does, changes the dopamine level of the brain. It is detailed in these medical books:

Aspartame Disease: An Ignored Epidemic, and Defense Against Alzheimers Disease by H. J. Roberts, M.D. www.sunsentpress.com or 1 800 827 7991

Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills by neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock, M.D. www.russellblaylockmd.com

Also, there is an excitotoxin in aspartame, a product that literally stimulates the neurons of the brain to death causing brain damage. This is aspartic acid and it seeps in the brain between the third and fourth ventricle where Parkinson's, Lou Gehrigs, MS, etc. would be most prominent. Dr James Bowen discussed that in a post you will find on the www.wnho.net web site Click on aspartame, and look for the posts on sudden death and the case for Lou Gehrigs. Also information on www.dorway.com

I agree with you that smoking is bad for you. I lost both my parents to smoking. It sure doesn't help Michael Fox. But he is definitely addicted to Diet Pepsi according to informants and this would also interact with Parkinson's drugs like L-dopa.

Incidentally, Dr. Blaylock's father died from Parkinson's and that's why he wrote the book.

All my best,
Betty

Michael J. Fox got Parkinson's at his early age because Parkinson's IS nictonine posioning... this 5'5" man has been chainsmoking since he was 8 years old, and is still chainsmoking. His mother laughs about it.

Even more horrible... ex-smokers who once posioned themselves decades ago with nicotine will be getting Parkinsons. If you live long enough and are a heavy smoker, it is inevitable. You will develop the disease. Nicotine wears out and eventually kills the dopamine receptors in the brain that causes Parkinsons.

My roomate's father suffers from the disease, and he gave up smoking pipes IN THE EARLY 60's because his doctor ordered him to after he developed ACUTE NICOTINE POSIONING.

ALL my parents' friends that smoked got Parkinsons... every last one of them, except for my father, who died in '72 at 54 of a massive coronary directly resulting from his 4-5 pack a day habit.

YOU WILL NOT FIND Parkisnons' in anyone who did not grow up in a smoking household, a household that burned candles, or had a well-used fireplace.

Back in the days of coal-burning stoves, women got cancer and Parkinson's from cooking smoke exposure. FIRE DOES NOT BELONG INDOORS, FOR ANY REASON, AT ANY TIME.

Unless you're suicidal and desire a horrible, painful death. Pray it's a coronary... infinitely preferable to Parkinsons', lung cancer, or emphesyma, although temporarily more excrutiating.

Dear Betty -

My point is you're going to find millions of people that have Parkinson's that never used Aspartame, while you won't find any of them not exposed to environmental indoor smoke. What about all the victims before Nutrasweet was deployed? (Yes, I feel it is a bioweapon.)

I'm not disputing that nutrasweet is not also a contributing factor, and it might actually be the only factor if Parkinson's starts showing up in nonsmokers and people not exposed to indoor environmental smoke (precious few people in this world.)

While Parkinson's victims smoke, howerver, I'm inclined to blame nicotine damage. And the reason it doesn't show up is because the tobacco comapnies are well aware of it and spend billions of dollars to fund studies that "prove" otherwise. I think the mechanism of the damage will be found to be similar.

I'm no fan of nutrasweet... I stopped using it decades ago when I realized I was getting excrutiating withdrawal headaches the day after I used it, unless I used it again (similar to caffeine, only much stronger, and it happened even with caffeine free diet coke.) Because of these headaches and other hidden symtoms, nutrasweet is at least as addicting as caffeine.

Thanks!

Leslie Bell :)

Dear Leslie,

As pointed out by Dr. Blaylock there can be several elements that trigger Parkinson's. So to say Parkinson's Disease was around before NutraSweet is like saying Parkinson's can only be caused by one thing. It just happens that aspartame can precipitate the disease. And be assured Dr. Blaylock does his own research and knows the difference between such things as drug funded and corporate neutral independent research. As I mentioned he has a special interest in it because his father died of Parkinson's.

He says in his book that "glutamate, amphetamines and other excitotoxins may produce Parkinson's by overexciting the cortical glutamate cells that connect to the nigrostriatal neurons lying deep in the brain." This is true of aspartame as well. He says further, "It is sort of like lightning hitting the power line outside your house and burning up all of the appliances connected to that line. The powerline represents the cortical glutamate neurons and the appliances, the nigrostriatal system."

The points Dr. Blaylock brings out are these:

1. Parkinson's Disease is a disorder who's cause appears from substantial evidence, to be related to excitotoxicity. These toxins destroy the cells in the brain central to this disease.

2. Excitotoxins cause these brain cells to generate enormous amounts of free radicals. This is true of MSG and aspartic acid (aspartame).

3. There is substantial circumstantial evidence that dietary excitotoxins, including aspartame, can aggravate these destructive changes in the Parkinson's brain.

4. The additional toxins - DKP, aspartate, methanol, formaldehyde and formic acid - add to this injury.

5. Recent evidence demonstrates that aspartame products, formaldehyde - accumulates within cells and damages proteins and DNA.

Dr. James Bowen wrote that "Many NutraSweet victims report Parkinsonian symptoms. This should be no surprise because every biochemical component of the aspartame molecule is implicated in producing Parkinsonian structural damage and creating a biochemical basis for Parkinsonian symptoms. Aspartame is a source of methyl alcohol. Experts in neurodegenerative disease from alcoholism recognize that methyl alcohol is the component of beverage alcohol that causes neurodegenerative disease in Parkinson's Disease in alcoholics. Beverage alcohol is grain alcohol or ethyl alcohol. However, methyl alcohol is also present in very small amounts, although present only in trace amounts in alcoholic beverages. It is the factor that produces the neurodegeneration. Methyl alcohol accomplishes this even though the ethyl alcohol serves as a protective factor. Aspartame on the other hand affords no such protection and the structural components of the molecule are so arranged that the methyl alcohol from aspartame is probably 500 to 5000 times more active in producing toxicity than it would be alone. "

Dr. Bowen also wrote that the structural damage in the basal areas of the brain where Parkinson Disease structural damage occurs from the dicarboxylic amino acid neuroexcitotoxins is a problem long recognized. So aspartic acid even in and by itself is a recognized source of the damage to the basal ganglia where Parkinson Disease degeneration occurs. As in the case with methyl alcohol the molecule structure of the aspartame molecule probably makes the aspartic acid damage from aspartame 5000 times more potent than from free aspartic acid on a mg. per mg. basis. The brain with loss of neural tissue to produce the dopamine, a neurotransmitter necessary to let the brain circuitry function normally, is no longer producing dopamine in sufficient amounts in these structures. The metabolic impact of the phenylalanine isolate from aspartame is to remarkably decrease dopamine production thus making Parkinson symptoms much worse".

"The phenylalanine isolate out competes all other amino acids at enzyme sites in the brain. this includes the decarboxylase enzyme sites. Therefore, the amino acid tyrosine is not decarboxylated to tramine which is the first step in producing dopamine in the brain. therefore, the brain dopamine levels plummet remarkably. "

"Michael Fox has reportedly used L-Dopa to try and increase his dopamine levels. The use of aspartame completely defeats this therapeutic endeavor. Not to mention the fact that it caused the degenerative disease called Parkinson's Disease in the first place. The destructive process will continue as long as he uses it. "

Whereas this may be a bit technical it explains how aspartame can precipitate Parkinson's Disease from two physicians who are experts. Dr.H. J. Roberts has written about it as well.

I hope this helps.
Betty
