| While I've never really trusted Pat Buchanan's far right
religious slant, his article, "Who Killed California".... http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=33830 ...underlines something that occured to me earlier today while I was driving home from work... Is the Bush Reich INTENTIONALLY trying to cause a Great Depression II? Consider the actions and inactions of the Bush Reich regarding the US economy... 1) NO concern over illegal immigration, despite the most obvious danger of unseen terrorist infiltration across porous borders. 2) NO concern over losses of American jobs to India, Mexico, etc. 3) Ignoring the issue of unemployment, with government-paid studies announcing that the "recession" ended LAST NOVEMBER... Please! 3) Working to ELIMINATE overtime pay that would (to start with) affect about 8 MILLION Americans (that are miraculously still working), making "getting by" even harder for them and their families than it already is. 4) ignoring the ENRON disaster and similar massive frauds, which have sucked untold $Billions from the US economy, by Band-Aiding them with a few new accounting rules. 5) Ignoring the worst state budget deficits seen across the country in, what, 60 years? 6) Adding to the financial burden of the beleaguered state budgets by forcing the funding of ineffective anti-terrorist measures at the state level. 7) I'm sure you can add one or two more verifiable examples here...? If so, please pass them along. I'd certainly like to hear from anyone who thinks I may be onto something. And more importantly, I'd like to understand why such a national financial disaster might be advantageous to the Bush Administration... Any ideas? I have a few guesses, but I know that together we can work up a solid theory. If I can get enough additional information to structure a plausible case, I'll write a full length article on this in the near future.
