Son Shocks Family - Returns As A Zombie

DOUALA - Is there Really a Zombie in the Bay City of Cameroon?

Ten months after his death, a 23 year old man who died under mysterious circumstances in a traffic accident returns to his family.

For the family members there is no doubt, it is a miracle: Victor Pierre Essengu was aroused from the dead.

It sounds like the story of a bad horror movie but what actually happend in Cameroon lets the people there realize Reality is most Frightening of all.

As the national newspaper "Cameroon Tribune" reported on Wednesday, the accident victim is keeping the city holding its breath.

23-year old Victor Pierre Essengu died ten months ago on 2 September of the past year in a traffic accident.Twelve days later he was buried; his grave is in the local cemetery.

The horror began a few days ago with an unnamed telephone call at the family of the dead man.

At the other end was the voice of a man who sounded  like Victor Pierre. Without naming himself, he promised to call back and then the discussion was suddenly interrupted.

And he did...and shifted the family in fear and fright.  How could such a thing be possible?  A telephone call from a dead man?

The nightmare, however, continued for the family.

A few days later, the family was told that a young man had come into their town with a woman looking for something to drink.  His body was scattered with injuries and very dirty.  Subsequently, the mysterious foreigner was spotted at the place at which Victor Pierre Essengu had lived up to his death: the house of his aunt.

When the family of Victor heard about it they hurried, concerned and shocked, to the man.  They wanted to see with their own eyes whether it actually was their son.

When they met him, there was no more doubt: Victor, who had been considered dead, had obviously arisen.

Since his wondrous return he, however, neither speaks his native language nor English said the mother of Victor Pierre to the national paper.

One of his sisters reported that their brother had died at that time under strange circumstances.

Besides the corpse was so much disfigured that Victor Pierre was to be identified only with the help of his papers.  Did another possibly die in his place?  If this were the case, where was the 23-year old for the last ten months?  The family now celebrates their returned son.  The sister continues to say:  "We were nine but with the death of our brother, we were only eight.  Now we are again nine."

With Best Wishes,

Daniel B.
