said Thursday it is shifting its 35mm film-finishing operations to Mexico
and China and eliminating as many as 900 jobs here. While the photography company will keep making 35mm film at its hometown manufacturing hub, it will move production lines that slit the consumer film into rolls and package them in signature yellow boxes. Those losing their jobs were notified Thursday. The work will be transferred mainly to Guadalajara, Mexico, but also to Kodak factories in Xiamen in southern China's Guangdong province, Kodak spokesman Jim Blamphin said.
