- This morning I poured myself a cup of coffee and turned
on the television. Donald Rumsfeld popped up on the screen as a guest
on Meet the Press. A question was brought to him "Why have we not
found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq?"
-
- His answer: "There is a war going on, we don't have
time to look for weapons of mass destruction right now."
-
- Wow, have I been misinformed. I thought that was what
we went to war with Iraq for. The U.S. has made it clear from all the
news patsies I have seen on television that we have secured all of the
Iraqi oil fields. This has been mentioned in all of the presidents speeches
as well as most of all the Pentagon briefings. It is, however, odd that
while we are protecting the Iraqi oil fields with a massive amount of troops,
Iraqi citizens are walking into museums and destroying and walking out
with priceless archeological and art treasures thousands of years old.
-
- It's not about oil though. I've had that pounded in
my head many times. So, if it is not about oil, and we don't have time
to look for weapons of mass destruction because there is a war going on,
then I am a bit confused. We have embedded journalists with the military
to show us the real story...yeah, you betcha. I have my 3D glasses I saved
from the 60's just in case the media patsies decide to go that route as
a new perspective.
-
- I admit I don't know all the answers but I am in favor
of putting embedded journalists into such places as Area 51 and Pine Gap
since we have nothing to hide in our 'democracy.' I guess it doesn't matter
what my opinion is. I am an employee of United States Inc. and I must
follow the employees handbook just like everyone else. My 15
minute coffee break is over, and I have to get back to being a good employee.
I just hope the "boss" hasn't already monitored this email.
