- Reports have been received of 12 American and 7 Afghan
military deaths in the eastern Afghan province of Paktika resulting from
a landmine explosion. According to details, American and Afghan soldiers
were patrolling in a convoy when a landmine exploded. As a result, 12 Americans
and 7 Afghan soldiers were killed while reports of several other people
injured have also been received. It is should be kept in mind that American
forces have started a special campaign to capture Taliban and Al-Qaida
in this area while rocket attacks against the American forces continue
to occur daily.
