- (AFP) -- The space shuttle Columbia's flight data recorder
has been found intact, the independent commission investigating the tragedy
said.
-
- "The flight data recorder was found on the ground"
in Hemphill, Texas, said Laura Brown, a spokeswoman for the Columbia Accident
Investigation Board (CAIB) said.
-
- "It's intact and it wasn't in water, which is good
news. We are very hopeful some data can be recovered," said Brown.
-
- The recorder has been taken to NASA's Johnson Space Center
in Houston.
