- Phenomenon captured on video during roll-out of the Chilean
Air Force's Mirage Pantera fighter

- SANTIAGO (Aug.16) -- The
appearance of a series of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) in two recordings
made during the last International Air and Space Fair (FIDAE, in Spanish)
caused great expectations and surprise. The luminous phenomena appear to
monitor the maneuvers of a fighter plane.

- On April 6, Claudia Cabezas and her brother visited FIDAE
2002 at the Los Cerrillos Airport. As in previous years they were equipped
with video cameras. Both Claudia and her brother carried their own instruments.

- Shortly after 15:00 hrs, the fair's loudspeakers announced
the presentation of the FAC's Mirage Pantera fighter. Immediately, hundreds
of camera lenses were pointed at the runway to record this new aircraft.

- "I have always enjoyed the UFO phenomenon since
I was young. My first sighting occurred at around 10 years of age. I knew
that strange things are always seen at these air shows, and that's why
I brought my camera. My brother doesn't believe much [in UFOs] but brought
his along all the same," explained Claudia Cabezas.

- Seconds after the fighter's take off, a strange sheen
drew the young woman's attention. "Did you see that?" I asked
my brother. He said no, and I kept on recording."
