- CNN has been substantially discredited many times since
9-11. From Venezuela to the West Nile virus, from Afghanistan to Iraq -
you just can't keep up with the flow of planted, absent, or misleading
stories.
-
- The latest proof of their absurd NPR-like "is Party
Line, Comrade" news coverage was this Saturday morning's all-chick
chat show hosted by the blonde Sherlock Kate Snow (8-24-02). Pretty little
Kate, a company plant? Shocking.
-
- "I guess they were just a few crazy tree huggers?"
(my words) was the message.
-
- I counted the words "environmental" or "environmentalist"
about 4 times in the short, one minute wrap of the Portland anti-Bush protests.
While clucking over breakfast buns, we were taught that "anti-war
wasn't the message out in Portland," scene of yet another West Coast
police riot.
-
- The real story is of course 180 degrees off from that.
The protesters were anti-Bush, anti-war, and protesting Bush's involvement
in the 9-11 attacks. Mike Ruppert is popular in Portland, and so they know
all about it. Not a word on this lurking drama: confronting Bush with his
likely complicity in terrorism.
-
- The real story should be told by the local folks. They
have audio and video, so go ahead and let your lying eyes fool you. The
posters do not read "hug a tree."
-
- http://portland.indymedia.org/
-
- Here, it is clear what really took place. The various
sponsors of the march were working to demonstrate to Bush what they thought
of him as a President. They know who he is, and they seem to think he had
a bit to do with 9-11.
-
- Remember Seattle? CNN had the same line back then. Asked
"what do the protesters want?" the reporter answered, "I
don't know, but I saw a man dressed as a turtle!"
-
- Talk about your Spin Cycle!!!!
-
- Discredited CNN stories abound these days. One from last
week on CounterPunch:
-
- http://www.counterpunch.org/nimmo0823.html
-
- This story, entitled "The Lapdog Conversion of CNN,"
discusses CNN's Rena Golden, a top official at CNN, admitting to censored
news reporting regarding the US war in Afghanistan. What they appear to
have censored, among other things, is a mass execution and likely American
complicity in a war crime. That story, which could have been covered by
CNN at the time, was disclosed last week by the leak of a UN document.
-
- Where was CNN while this was happening? One is forced
to ask oneself, is CNN itself party to a war crime? Not so far fetched.
Remember Goebbels.
-
- In the German Propaganda Archive at Calvin College, one
finds Joseph Goebbels writing, "The German radio should be a good
companion."
-
- http://www.calvin.edu/academic/cas/gpa/goeb12.htm
-
- Sound like CNN? Aaron Brown, evening anchor, certainly
is a "good" companion.
-
- http://www.yellowtimes.org/article.php?sid=528
-
- This story, about Aaron Brown's reportage (he was installed
promptly within hours of 9-11) demonstrates Brown's deft propaganda technique.
I saw Aaron the other night, explaining in a brittle, "I am pissed
off," tone of voice, why he thought it proper to play down the casualties
in Afghanistan. The way he put it, he is both a Citizen and a Journalist
at the same time, "there is no line." American deaths ARE more
important, he reasoned. I thought "what a racist." But is he
a war criminal? Let us hope a future court finds him so.
-
- Here is a piece on the supposed Al-Qaeda videos CNN has
been broadcasting. Are they real? Who was paid? When? How?
-
- Everyone is on CNN's case. No doubt. Here, in a reprint
from the San Francisco Bay Guardian, A.C. Thompson reports on the question
of deliberate leaking of war plans:
-
- Are you shocked, shocked that CNN is a government controlled
propaganda spewing instrument? No? Anyone old enough to remember the Church
and Pike hearings on the CIA (Senator Church and Congressman Pike held
hearings on the CIA after Watergate era disclosures provided the impetus).
Their committee's report contained details of journalistic plants.
-
- You had not missed all this back when Bernard Shaw danced
before your wondrous eyes in a gold brocade bathrobe over Tiananmen Square?
-
- The CNN goose is cooked. No matter how many times you
call it "liberal," it just doesn't wash. The stories should be
taken the way Soviets took their latest news from Pravda, back in the day:
as a complete and total fabrication. Assume the opposite, you may be closer
to the truth.
-
- War debate raging? There is no debate. Election contested?
There was no real election.
-
- Read between the lines, find your own news on the web,
and talk to your neighbors. "They" (the fake journalists) control
the airwaves. Good Morning America!
-
- There is a wonderful site called NarcoNews, which has
just awarded Eminem "journalist-of-the-year."
-
- http://www.narconews.com/
-
- This site has been advocating a new type of journalism,
called "authentic." Read a specific story of the idea here:
-
- http://www.narconews.com/themasses.html
-
- This was the website that more-or-less covered live and
truthfully, the U.S. sanctioned coup attempt in Venezuela this year failing
to oust Hugo Chavez, Venezuela's leftist President. Chavez "resigned"
from office, according to U.S. mainstream news reportage during the coup.
The Washington Post and the New York Times were caught pants-down in pure
horse hockey propaganda.
-
- CNN has a Latin American desk. CNN can be live almost
anywhere within hours. CNN said nothing for days. Usually Lucia Newman
is the Latin American reporter. CNN involved in a coup attempt? Why do
we have to ask? Who runs these pieces? Are they accountable? Who answers
these questions?
-
- Wouldn't you love to see a real cable news channel? CNN
is the largest and most popular "reliable" all news cable channel.
Millions watch worldwide. What a failure.
-
- Here is a last word from Joseph Goebbels, found here
in his 1934 Nuremberg speech on "The Paper War" (propaganda):
-
- "The effective propagandist must be a master of
the art of speech, of writing, of
- journalism, of the poster and of the leaflet. He must
have the gift to use the major methods of influencing public opinion such
as the press, film and radio to serve his ideas and goals, above all in
an age of advancing technology."
-
- Joseph Goebbels was right. Hello Kate Snow and peers
at the official source.
-
- Don't trust CNN.
