 VP wife Lynne Cheney told associates she was "embarrassed"
by the commotion surrounding thrash rocker/MTV star Ozzy Osbourne's appearance
at this weekend White House Correspondence Dinner in Washington.

- "He's hardly someone we should be applauding...
not a role model, I am rather embarrassed," Cheney said after the
dinner, according to sources.

- Osbourne's presence at the Washington Hilton on Saturday
night caused a complete sensation. The rocker's Tuesday show on MTV has
become one of the most-watched shows on the air among teens.

- Cheney has been an outspoken critic of rock and rap lyrics
marketed to youth.

- Last year Cheney took on rapper Eminem, calling his music
"the most extreme example of rock lyrics used to demean women, rock
lyrics used to advocate violence against women."

- "The thing about Ozzy is, he's made a lot of big
hit recordings: "Party With the Animals," "Sabbath Bloody
Sabbath," "Face in Hell," "Black Skies'' and "Bloodbath
in Paradise,'' President Bush joked in his speech before the association.

- Not a fan of the guy, but it's nonetheless sad to see
Ozzy and the beltway cabal breaking bread together... particularly considering
what he wrote about such folks back when he was still hungry and creatively
dangerous...

Ozzy, as corny as he is today compared to the likes of Marilyn Manson and
the like, produced some of the best "Christian Rock" the world
has ever known when he was with Black Sabbath. That's right. Christian
Rock. The message was always the same -- The power of drugs to drive a
man mad and Satan will devour your soul and leave you a miserable heap.
Can't beat that! If I may add too the lyrics selections here...
