- BRATISLAVA (Reuters) - A
Slovak man died after trying to decapitate himself with a home-made guillotine
because he had fallen behind in paying his taxes, police said on Tuesday.
-
- The 56-year-old man drove his car in front of the tax
office in the western Slovak town of Malacky late last month, pulled out
a devise resembling a guillotine, stuck his head in it and tried to decapitate
himself, the police said.
-
- "It did not cut his head off completely...but he
wounded himself so badly that he died afterwards," Malacky Police
Chief Milan Kuzma told Reuters.
-
- The man left a message, saying he could no longer pay
his taxes, which totaled around $542.
