 We received an image of what was purported to be an "alien
skull" from the Vietnam era. You've probably seen this mug by now,
or some facsimile thereof elsewhere on the net.
The evidence of Photoshop manipulation was obvious... the frayed and expanded
pixels blooming in the forehead of the skull indicating the use of a pinch
or sphereize tool effect, the slight smudge-tool markings in the corners
of the eye sockets.
Not since the Streiber 'alien' photo of '99 has an image made the rounds
so quickly. We reversed the Photoshop effect and, naturally, the result
is a plain old-fashioned human skull...most likely a Vietnamese skull.
